Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Swelling In The Eye During Pregnancy

My daughter is pregnant and suffering, in the last week with swollen glands under her earlobes. Swollen and painful. Painful to the point it is causing severe pain in her eye and today her eye is swollen. She went to the ER last night with this issue and they drew blood for testing and took a CT scan to see if they could see any infection behind the eye. None. Apparently the bloodwork showed no infection either, as they sent her home with nothing and so resolve but to apply warm compresses and take Percocet for the pain. Ugh!

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to swollen lymph nodes due to a viral infection.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen.

If the symptoms continue I suggest taking a cycle of antibiotics.

For pregnant women, it is recommended Amoxicillin.
