Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Below The Shoulder Blade

Having, mainly mornings, pain just below left shoulder blade that will go around to under left breast. Will come and go for about 2 - 3 hours in the am then stop the rest of the day. Has been happening for 4 mornings in a row. BP is ok when checked each morning. Hurts more when I bend over from the waist or try to take a deep breath.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be muscular however a baseline EKG and chest X-ray should be done to rule out any cardiac or pleuritic origin of the pain.

Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.

Muscle relaxants like tizanidine or orphenidine can also be used for quick inquiry. Physiotherapy orthopedic surgeon review may be needed if symptoms persist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
