Hello my wife had a tooth extraction at 3pm today.. Extremely painful. She took one Nurofen and one Diclocem tablet around 4pm. Severe pain and she is screaming. At 8pm she took one Co-codamol. Started again complaining of severe pain since 9pm and severe pain is still there. At 12pm she has now taken 2 x cocodamol. Still in pain and continues. Can u suggest an y other strong painkillers.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain severe pain after tooth extraction is not an abnormal finding and as the healing will proceed the pain will gradually subside..
As the pain is severe she can take painkillers like Tramadol or Ketorolac..
Along with it she can also do cool compresses over the cheek on the side of extraction..

In case if pain does not subside still, she needs evaluation by a dentist to look for an nerve related injuries that might have occurred during extraction or in case if any piece of the root of the tooth is left out in the extraction socket it can also be a cause of pain..
She can also be given injectable analgesics/painkiller for relief from pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
