Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Due To Recurrent Kidney Stones
I am prone to kidney stones and I would say my pain level right now is about as 6-7 the difference this time is the pain is shooting up the left side of my back I normally only go to the hospital when the pain is so unbearable that I know it s lodged, but this time the pain is shooting up the left side of my back and so my question is could it be something else or is this a symptom of kidney stones. Thank you in advance.
You have history of recurrent kidney stones. Presently you are experiencing shooting pain in the left side of your back. You should get clinically examined by a GP and get treated at the earliest. This is not the time to stay back at home. You are suggested to visit ER and get blood workouts & imaging tests done.
Drink plenty of water. If the becomes lodged in the ureters, it may block the flow of urine and cause the kidney to swell and ureter to spasm causing shooting pain. Your treating doctor may recommend surgery if required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
