Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain During Periods

Ok I am 41 yrs. I have had a tubal. I had the worst pain this morning on my period. Worse than normal. I couldn t stand up or I felt as if my guts were falling out. I had to curl up in a ball it was so bad. I have been bleeding big clots all day. Which is abnormal for me. Could it have been a tubal pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Irregular periods /heavy bleeding can occur due hormonal imbalance, uterine or ovarian pathologies. I would suggest you to take a pelvic ultrasound. Antifibrinolytics/antispasmodics and hormonal treatment may be required to reduce the bleeding. These changes can also be perimenopausal or even due to premature menopause. In some women. Bleeding and clotting may subside in the next few months.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
