Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain From Kidney Stone

I have been suffering for 2 days with severe pain on the left back side. I went to the ER they took a CT and said I have a kidney stone. The size is 6mm. They got my pain under control and sent me home to pass the stone. But that didn t last long. My pain is uncontrollable. I am in crying pain. Is there anything I can do?

Hi.

The best thing to do with a stone the size of 6 mm would be surgery in my opinion, and as the pain management is only going to be temporary, hydrotherapy may not really help. You can choose to wait and try to pass the stone for a day or 2, or request admission under a urologist and get the stone removed. Getting admitted will ensure round the clock pain management.

Best wishes.
