Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have terrible pain in my hip. My doctor has given me pain medication and muscle relaxers, but the pain is still severe. He thinks it is my cyatic nerve and will get better with stretches and the medication , but I am here crying it hurts soooo bad. It has been almost a week. What else can i do? My doctor is so hard to get in to see. Thanks
Hi, I have read your question and understand your concerns. Thank you for posting in HCM. What you have described is called Sciatica, where a person feels pain at his back, hip and legs. It is associated with compression of sciatic nerve. I suggest patients suffering from sciatica, Tab Diclofenac 50mg twice daily for 5 days along with Tab Tizanidine 2mg twice daily. Get MRI of lumbosacral spine. Avoid heavy work and consult a physiotherapist who will explain the required exercise for reducing the intensity of pain. Wish you good health. Do post again in HCM if you have any further questions. Regards.
