Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Legs

I CAN T SEE A DOCTOR FOR 2 WEEKS FOR SEVERE PAIN IN MY LEGS WHICH HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. THEY THINK ITS NERVE DAMAGE? I AM 73 YRS OLD FEMALE. MY SON GAVE ME SOME GABAPENTIN. I HAVE H/P, HEART FAILURE AND OVER WEIGHT BY 74 LBS DUE TO THE FACT I AM NOT EXCERSISING. MY QUESTION IS CAN I TAKE GABAPENTIN SAFELY UNTIL I SEE THE DOCTOR. JUST AFRAID OF DRUG INTERACTION! I TAKE METERPOLOL, LOZARTIN, WARFIN, HORMONE REPLACEMENT AND DELTAZIUM. (SP) THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I AM DESPERATE

Hi,

Gabapentine is a comparatively safe &widely used pain medicine but it is likely to cause heart failure. I would advise you to continue with the medicine, if you are relieved of pain.

BUT, you will have to be on guard. You should not have edema feet / breathlessness or irregular heart beats. Your own observation along with at least weekly cardiac check up by a doctor.
