Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m experiencing severe pain from my right ear. It even hurts to the touch for example if you run your hand accross tragus. Also, that side of my face tingles from time to time. Lastly, anytime my throat is hurting gets worse when a liquid goes down. Tonight, it was very hard to swallow my medicine for my epilepsy.
As per your query you have sore throat as well as pain in right ear . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like ear infection , change in pressure , earwax buildup , a foreign object in the ear , strep throat and sinus infection . It seems to me that in your case the ear pain and sore throat is due to infection of upper respiratory track infection . This condition when left untreated spread to ear through eustachian tube . I would suggest you to consuly ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine by ordering tests like throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test , also doctor will examine with otoscope and order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillion ) along with decongestants and aanti inflammatory .
Hope your concern has been resolved,
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
