Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Ankles

Hi, so I seen my primary Doctor this past week and he thinks I have torn my Achilles tendon in my foot. Well, I m waiting to see the orthopedic doctor and been on crutches and have a wrap on my ankle. Over the weekend I ve gotten this burning pain in the same spot and it s not gone away. All he told me to take was aleve. Well, I m wondering if i should be concerned with the amount of burning pain I m having if I should go to emergency room? Any suggestions

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It might be tendonitis or any soft tissue inflammation.
Take some NSAID like Advil for pain and inflammation and apply ice. Give rest to the joint and apply a crepe.
If it does not improve then visit an orthopedician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
