Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Chest While Bending And Sitting
I am experiencing pretty bad pain when bending and sitting on the right side of my rib cage and back area. About (2) months ago, I sat in a massaging chair with hard balls rolling around my back for about 20 minutes while I got a pedicure. Two days later, the pain started and 800 mg of ibuproven is not taking the pain away. So any movement in the waist area is causing pain when bending over and sitting for extended periods of time. Do I have a fractured rib or what else can it be?
Probable causes of your pain may be costochondritis which is inflammation of costal cartilage at the point where rib attaches to breast bone, pleurodynia meaning pain due to inflammation of linings of lungs, pericarditis, muscle strain, herpes zoster or fibromyalgia.
Most probably yours is a muscle strain that would relieve with a analgesic with a muscle relaxant like Aceclofenac and Chlorzoxazone to be taken 2times a day for 3 days. If your pain doesn't subside, you need to consult a physician for thorough clinical examination and tests for appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
