Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Two weeks ago I slipped & fell very hard on my tail bone. Thinking, hoping, that I was bruised after 2 weeks the pain began to be so excruciating that I had an exray to find out no broken bones. This was great news, I m taking 2 Ibuprofen a day, pain 1-5 feels like a 6. I m using a cane when walking as right leg wants to give out & use of cane helps but...what else can I do, if possible, aid in a speedy recovery? Thank you, S
It is nice to know that you didn't have a fracture. However, injury to the coccyx takes a longer time to deal, about 4 weeks so have patience. You have to be careful else it will become chronic. Always sit on a pillow.
Do not massage, you can apply heat or ice to the affected area for relieve. Take care while leaning forward or sitting down, do not do any heavy work. You can take acetaminophen (Tylenol), NSAIDS or Naproxen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
