Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Foot

Have been having pain in left foot for a while and getting more distracting. Pain along the outside and on top of foot to big toe and just below ball of foot. Have to flex foot before trying to walk in the mornings and after sitting for long periods. Some days worse than others.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to suggest an MRI of the Left Foot. In MRI, everything can be seen clearly. This can guide what to do next. I also suspect Flat Feet.

Meanwhile, you can do:

1. RICE: Rest + Icing + Compression + Elevation

2. Wear Flat Feet Shoes

3. If pain too much can take Ibuprofen

4. Massage gently the feet. Please without delay, do the MRI as soon as possible. And meanwhile, do the above points.

Do not worry. If there is too much pain, I will give you pain medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
