Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hands

I have pain in both hands, but the worst is my left middle finger. There is pain at the base, in the palm, worse when palpated. Now the middle finger won t straighten out or bend completely. Are there stretches/exercises that could restore function?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have pressure on nerve supplying the middle finger at palm region, the carpal tunnel syndrome.

Yes, certain physiotherapy/physical therapy exercises would help in the improvement of the symptoms.

The specific advise needs. examination by an orthopedic surgeon& imaging investigation like MRI if needful adding some anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamin B12 supplement &local injection of steroids in some cases help in improvement.

If no relief, surgery is the final answer to the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
