Hi..I m 64...had neck surgery mar 7 for pinched nerves. Due to swallowing and choking issues i wasnt able to continue metoprolol. While i wasnt taking it those issues ceased...i still have very much pain in hands am on norco 10/325 and gabapentin..before the surgery if my hearyrate was up(anxiety) i would take a xanax .05...the pharmacist said now I m on norco i cant take xanax cuz of an interaction....is this true? Because next week im calling the cardiologist i can feel my heartbeats...wont go down under 95...can i take a xanax or not? Thank you
It is absolutely true that you can not take Norco with Xanax simultaneously as per the FDA guidelines, there are all chances of severe interaction including respiratory depression, coma and death.
For the pain management, I need a systemic work up for the underlying cause and manage accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query.
