Hello,
I would like to suggest some tests:
1. X-Ray of the foot
2.
Nerve Conduction Studies
3. Fasting Blood Glucose
4. If possible, MRI of the foot
I would also like to ask:
1. Is there swelling in the foot or heel?
2. Is there any
stiffness in the heal?
I also suggest these medications:
1.
Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hours maximum of 3 doses. Not more than that.
2.
Naproxen 550 mg orally once, followed by 275 mg orally every 6 to 8 hours or 550 mg orally every 12 hours as needed
There are many forms of treatment:
If it is severe, we will add
Physical therapy as
adjunctive therapy. In this case, you have to go to a physiotherapist.
Meanwhile, follow these:
Rest as directed. Rest decreases swelling and prevents your pain from getting worse.
Apply ice on your heal for 15 to 20 minutes every hour or as directed. Use an ice pack, or put crushed ice in a plastic bag. Cover it with a towel. Ice helps prevent tissue damage and decreases swelling and pain.
Wear a compression bandage or use tape. This will decrease swelling and pain. Ask your healthcare provider how to wrap a compression bandage or apply tape.
Elevate your heel above the level of your heart as often as you can. This will help decrease swelling and pain. Prop your heel on pillows or blankets to keep it elevated comfortably.
Always warm up your muscles and stretch before you exercise. Do cool down exercises and stretches when you are finished. This will keep your muscles loose and decrease
stress on your heal.
Post another question and answers to the above questions. Any doctor can follow you up. Do not worry as you are under good supervision.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
