Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Navel Area

I have an eternal pain to the right of my belly bottom... It has been gradual and now I feel it all the time. It has started wake me at night and I usually get relief by turning over.. When I pee, it eases the pain a bit. When I lay on that side of my body, it feels like there is something there (bulge)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain related to urination.... situated on right side of abdomen...with feeling of a bulge ..could be either urinary stone in right ureter or chronic selling of appendix.
It needs to be evaluated by physical examination & X-ray/MRI apart from blood & urine examination.
Please consult a surgeon.
Till then do not massage or foment it. Drink plenty of water. Pain medicine like Ibuprofen, over the counter, can give some relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
