Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Upper Arm And Shoulder

58 year olds female experiencing pain from middle of upper arm to shoulder. I do have a bone graft and plate in this arm from 1990. It s difficult to lift my arm and aches pretty noticeably with it in a resting position. This has been going on for past 3 weeks but is not getting any better. Should I give it more time to maybe heal or go to doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I suggest that you go to a doctor. They may want to do an xray or other test to determine the cause. If it is a problem with the bursa or tendons they may recommend physical therapy. Especially due to your prior bone graft it is a good idea to be seen sooner rather than later
Regards
