Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Wrists

Hi, the bone in my wrist, on the inside, is sharper than usual, and severly hurts! It has gotten worse over the last month or so. Now, I have pain in my thumb, hand, wrist, and up my arm some. I can hardly pick something up, like a cup or anything really. It pinches, burns, stings, and tingles. Does this mean I could have broken a bone or torn a tendon? Or maybe it is carpal tunnel? I ve never had that, but I did work for 15 years typing at a full time job, although I no longer work now. Please give me some advice on what I should do? Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can wear a wrist brace or splint to ease wrist pain. Apply hot compresses for 10 to 20 minutes at a time, thrice a day.

Take anti-inflammatory or pain-reliving medications, such as ibuprofen or naproxen.

If the things do not improve, please see an orthopedic specialist and procure an X-ray.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
