Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Toe Nail Caused Due To Gout

Hi I have been to my doctor, I suffer from Gout, he at first thought I had gout in the big toe, after two weeks of my meds, it worsen, I went in on Monday of this week and told it was infected, he gave me seven days of antibiotic. Told me it look like an ingrown toenail, I have had two toes amputated from smoking, this is different, I am in a lot of pain, and can not sleep due to pain, any suggestions until I get in to see my podiatrist?

You may want to check if you have diabetes. A custom made shoe which is well padded will help. Also meet with an Occupational therapist / orthotist who can fabricate a toe spreader / missing toes filler so as to prevent the big toe from getting misaligned.
