Suggest Treatment For Severe Pelvic Pain

My mom is 88 and has been suffering from pelvic pain which worsens in the evening and seems to coincide with a rise in her blood pressure. She has CHF and chronic HTN for which she takes coreg, valsartin, amlodepine, and lasix. She has had a CT and pelvic ultrasound, which showed some mild fatty liver and cysts on her kidney s but the doctor said all of that is nothing to worry about. However she is miserable and her blood pressure goes up to 170/90 sometimes. What do you thing the cause might be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to arthritis. For further assessment you may require complete hemogram, c reactive protein, RA factor, X-ray or MRI hip after orthopedician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet Acetaminophen. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. Do regular physical therapy after physiotherapist consultation. Avoid heavy weight lifting, forward bending.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
