Dear Ma am,
Thanks for posting your question on HCM.
I have gone through your case history.
Indeed NSAIDs pain killer are not advisable in a patient who is taking blood thinner for Atrial
fibrillation because of a risk of bleeding.
To overcome this, you can take
Paracetamol tablets up to 1 gm three times daily if your pain still persists then an opioid drug like
Tramadol or Codeine can be taken along with Paracetamol.
Even after taking this combination, if the pain does not subside, then Inj
Hydrocortisone is given into the joint (intra articular) for a period of 3-4 months in a particular joint.
You may have to visit a skilled orthopedic surgeon with normal clotting tests for the intra articular injection of hydrocortisone.
Knee joint replacement is the last solution if all the above measures failed to relieve the pain.
Hope I have answered your query giving possible treatment options.
If convinced, kindly give a feed back.
Take care.
