Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Having terrible pain in my scalp. Has not relented in over 8 weeks. I can t sleep....it hurts to lay on my pillow. If my scalp is touched on the right side, a few inches above the ear, kind of over the right eye, it feels like a knife stabbing me. And there is constant pain, though not as bad, even when scalp is not touched, along with light sensitivity and low back pain, with pins in needles in arms and legs at times. Any ideas?
only going by your symptoms it seems you may be having a condition called temporal arteritis or giant cell arteritis, it's a inflammatory condition of the superficial temporal artery usually involving the arteries which supply to the area you are describing as the area of your symptoms, it is advisable that you please visit a rheumatologist ASAP and get the condition diagnosed as it can at times lead to serious complications like loss of vision.
