Suggest Treatment For Severe Seborrheic Dermatitis
Hi I am 37 years old male and having severe seborrhic dermatitits/ scalp psoriasis for many years . I am getting good relief after using Ionex T solution ( coal tar + salysilic acid ) . I am using this solution for the past 5 months . I would take a tea spoon of this solution and add same amount of water and would apply in scalp for 3 minutes before bath. The manufactures says this is gentle enough for daily use. I would like to know whether it safe continuing daily use as i need to apply every day to get relief.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe seborrheic dermatitis. Well this is very common problem and mainly due to hormonal changes, allergic reaction, stress , oily skin and excessive exposure to sun . I would suggest you to wash area with solution containing benzoyl peroxide then apply cream containing azelaic acid which is safe and very effective. Apply vitamin E before going to bed to fine texture of skin . Exfoliate your skin with non comedogenic exfoliant once a week to remove dead skin . If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment . Doctor may prescribe tretinoin ointment and antibiotic like clindamycin. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables also drink plenty of water.
