Suggest Treatment For Severe Sinus Pressure

I have had a weepy eye for 3 days, just teary but not itchy. I thought it was allergies, since I had something similar a few months ago and it went away on its own. Today (day 4?) the tears are no longer clear, but rather whitish and the area around my eye is tender. Feels a little like sinus pressure? I m developing a headache on that side of my head. I took some Benedryl thinking it was allergies about 5 hours ago and it hasn t any effect. Is this something I should just wait out, or is there something more I can do?

Hello
The pain on one side near eye with periorbital swelling may be because of cluster headache or any orbital/ocular infection.
sinusitis is usually associated with stuffy nose, fever, fatigue.Anti histaminics and steam inhalation do provide some relief.
But still if it is not relieving,it can be cluster headache.Have you experienced such symptoms before?Cluster headache usually occur in cluster at specific time intervals.
Analgesics like ibuprofen or acetaminophen may help relieve the symptom.
Cold compress around eye will help decrease swelling.
Adequate rest advised in calm dark room.
Visit to neurologist is necessary.Certain investigations like CT scan head, blood lipids may be necessary.
Also ,an opinion of opthalmologist required to rule out any ocular infection.
Thanks
