Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat, Headache And Body Pain

A few days ago I felt what I thought was an incoming thrush infection so I purchased the canesten pessary and inserted that on the night of the 3rd. Yesterday I had some crumbly white remnants of the tablet left in my underwear as predicted by the instructions. Today I have woken up and noticed a pinkish discharge and spotting. I also woke up with flu like symptoms (headache, body aches and a very sore throat) Do you think these symptoms are related to the canesten pessary and should I be worried about the spotting? (I am on the pill and have skipped the last 4ish months)

Hello,

The flu-like symptoms very likely are not related to the spotting. You will need to have a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy and also if you have not had a pap smear in the last year, it may be advisable to have one.

As for the sore throat, body pains and headache, you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol and make sure you drink plenty of water and rest well. If no improvement in a few days, please see your doctor.
