Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat, Headache And Chest Congestion
Saturday I woke up with a terrible sore throat, I gargled w/warm salt water took Zinc and some Osha root through out the day and by early afternoon the sore throat was almost complete gone. Saturday evening i started having a headache and getting congested, I took some advil and took a nap, the headache was lingering but not bad. the congestion continued and I have some tightness on the left side of my chest and some in my back. No shortness of breath. I feel fine just congested and the tightness comes and goes.
Hi That sounds like a respiratory infection. The symptoms might at times be accompanied by runny nostrils and headache might set in though mild. Most of these respiratory infections are of viral origin and may need no special medications.Bacteria infection can occur but rare.Environmental irritants/aleergy may also contribute.I will suggest you continue with your home based measures like gargling with warm salty water, and avoid environmental irritants like dust, smoke and cold. You may add a mucolytic like carbocysteine and observe. If the symptoms continue or increase in intensity, you get your throat examined by a Doctor. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
