Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have not felt well for about 4 weeks. The first week I had a severe sore throat. as that went away I had the mucous drainage, though thick and difficult especially at night. About the same time I had noticeable soreness in my right arm at the top. It never went away and then as the days passed the entire upper part of my shoulders became sore and remain so. I don t feel like my self and found that I wanted to lie down. Lack of motivation and energy but I persevered. I did see my primary care at this point and was on 10 days of omoxicillan. No better. I had a chest X-ray today and the radiologist said he though I had signs of COPD. I have never smoked and though I had asthma as a child I haven t had lung problems as an adult. I have also been advised by my primary care dr. to see a heart dr. and a pulmonary dr. I do not think I have COPD. what do you think?

Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat
Hi welcome to HCM... You might have chronic bronchitis according to history. ..That comes under COPD which include either bronchitis or emphysema or both ... Without your auscultation it is difficult to comment more on probable diagnosis apart from bronchitis which seems mostly here ... Spirometry will be helpful to diagnose COPD... If needed sputum cytology , throat swab examination will also be useful.... According to report further treatment will be guided ... EKG done only if needed after examination... Take care Advise : Pulmonologist consultation for examination....
