Suggest Treatment For Severe Stabbing Pain In The Head
I have had a headache for over 3 weeks now. It feels like a sharp stabbing pain in my head which goes away completely after lying down for about 5 minutes. It comes back within 5 minutes of standing up and gradually gets worse if I dont lie down again. The motion of being in the car whether driving or a passenger seems to be even worse than just sitting or standing/ walking around. My ears are a bit blocked up too( no cold or virus) but I dont think the blocked up ears is the cause. Over the counter pain medication has no effect so I havent used it for nearly two weeks now.
The commonest cause I can think about are as follows: Problems with internal ear structures. Cerebellar tumor. Cervical spondylitis. Increased intracranial tension and so on. Hence I would advise you the following: Consult your Doctor for a preliminary clinical checkup and get the investigations of MRI of the brain and cervical spine. Get a reference for an ENT Surgeon and Neurosurgeon as the case may be. Treatment will be as per the cause found and should be followed strictly till cured and continued as needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
