Suggest Treatment For Severe Staph Infection On Face
I was diagnosed with a severe staph infection on my face, in my mouth and in/on my nose. The infection is mostly gone now but my Doctor told me to expect hyperpigmentation for many months. Is there any way to get rid of it quicker. It is a large area on my face......or maybe I just think it is because it is MY face.
Cellulitis of face is an uncommon scenario of staphylococcal infection but a serious condition where it can pave way for meningitis that is infection of the covering layers of brain and also possibly encephalitis. It is imperative that you complete your antibiotic course and follow up with your doc. Also you've not specified your age as this condition occurs in bimodality of age that in children and old age (>50 yrs). If your age group is in between there is a possibility of immunocompromised status which should be evaluated as to the causative factors but it can occur in normal healthy adults also so caution is advised not to jump to conclusions or have unreasonable fear. Regarding the hyperpigmentation that is something we can be concerned about after the infection subsides you can try some of the kojic acid preparations later.
