Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Cramps And Black Stools

My aunt has been suffering from severe stomach cramps like bad menstrual cramps in the middle part of her abdomin. She had black stool for a few days, however, the color of stool is normal now. She has been taking Dialantin for the past 33 years. She is severely overweight but has been slowly loosing weight over the past six months. She has been more conscious of the food she has been eating and she is now taking care of her small special needs grandaughter. She is concerned about the pain. She doesn t have insurance therefore she wont go to the doctor. Is there something she can do to may be self treat?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe stomach cramps and black stools which seems to be due to disturbance of electrolytic balance of body. It could be due to stomach ulcers, hemorrhoids, food intolerance , food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of outside of food. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide. You should eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
