Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain

Hello, My husband is suffering from a anxiety induced severe stomach ache. I m worried because the pain is very severe. Do these types of stomach aches count as an emergency if the pain level is so high? Or what do I do to help relieve the symptoms. Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Though anxiety can definitely cause abdominal pain , other causes of abdominal pain would need to be ruled out by examination and possibly imaging.

For this reason, he may need to be assessed by a doctor in the ER or his GP.

If no physical cause is found then treatment would mainly consist of trying to manage the anxiety.
Anxiety treatment would entail both counselling and medication if needed.

Counselling would be to help deal with any stressors and develop coping techniques.

I hope this helps
