General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Angio edema is a very side effect of ACE inhibitors, mostly lips swell up when a person starts using the medication , it has no treatment just antihistamin is given and ACE inhibior, Lisinopril in your case, is taken off , as the drug leaves the system , swelling of your father's face will get fine.

There is nothing to be worries it is a common side effect it will get fine by itself as body removed the drug from the system. Just make sure to dicuss this with your doctor so that the drug can be changed with some other class of anti hypertensives.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
