Suggest Treatment For Severe Swelling In The Foot

My right foot was swollen early this morning but it subsided a bit. I can not walk my normal steps. It feels like when it is sprain or something. I have never had this happened to me. I did practice a bit with my grand daughter before her soccer practice and it is the same foot I used to kick the ball back to her. I am at work and have elevated my leg. Not sure how high I need to elevate. It is not a discomfort when I elevate. What do I need to do besides seeing a foot doctor?
