Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain And Chest Pain
I swallowed a sleeping pill last night. It seemed to get stuck in my throat although I know the pill went down. Afterwards I had a lot of pain in my throat that progressed to my chest. I also started feeling nauseous. I drank a lot of water to try to alleviate the sensation of the pill being stuck; it didn t work. I then ate some bread which seemed to help slightly. However, it has almost been 24 hours and it still hurts to swallow and I still feel pain in my throat and chest.
Hi,I did review your concern, sometimes sleeping pills can cause acute pill esophagitis that can cause painful swallowing and pain in chest and throat. However I would recommend you to go see a doctor and get a ECG done to rule a heart condition out as we do this on part of protocol with every chest pain patients eventhough the cause is most likely something else. Meanwhile next time you take a pill drink a lot of water with it and that would help. I hope this helps Wish you good health in future.
