Suggest Treatment For Severe Toothache

hi, my name is Hayam and i'm 29 weeks pregnant having sever toothache, my dentist suggested me to take Ketorol DT whenever i have pain and i'm taking it for 3-4 days. i just want to know whether is it safe or not if i take further or if harmfull what should i do now.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain in pregnancy most of the medications are contraindicated and there are aver few which should be taken to avoid any complication with the foetus and the pregnant mother..

As you are into the last trimester of pregnancy all care should be taken before taking any medications for toothache or any other problem for that matter..
Ketorol DT is commonly not indicated in pregnancy to control pain specially in the last trimester of pregnancy,although in humans there is no specific side effect seen during pregnancy that effects the mother or the foetus but clinical trials in animals have shown some fatal effects..

Therefore if I would be your treating dentist I would rather put you on Paracetamol 500mg twice daily and Amoxicillin 250 twice daily mg to control pain and infection..
