Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I developed severe back pain accross my upper back just below my ribcage. It goes all the way around from side to side and a bit around to the front. I do not remember doing anything to cause it. It started after a nap on the couch four days ago. When I move, it shoots pain from the spine, but it hurts all the time.
From the available description, it appears that you had spasmodic pain due to pulling/pressing of your muscle in the back. Although I am not aware of your age and gender but it often occurs in individuals above 40 years of age with sedentary life style.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
