For the past 4 days I ve had a really itchy vagina, it s also a bit red but that could be from scratching. I have no bad discharge and no bad smell. I m not sure if this matters but I m on holiday and staying at a hotel and also haven t been drinking much water. Please help I m really unsure of what it could be
Hello, Most common cause of vaginal itchiness would be bacterial vaginosis; however, you do not have any discharge so we can exclude this and yeast infection as well. Since you have mentioned that you stayed in a hotel there are chances that a scented toilet paper, bubble bath, soap or a chemical cleaner that was used to clean the toilet coming in contact with your vagina. If you have had a recent sexual contact then you must reconsider as sexually transmitted infections can also lead to vaginal itchiness. For relief avoid scratching the area as it may cause even more injury. If you feel you have a thickly discharge or yeast infection you can use candid-b ointments or an antifungal ointment. Avoid any new soap, toilet paper or other objects that you suspect might have caused an allergy. Do not douche. Clean from back to front after a bowel movement. Remain well hydrated its always helpful.
