Suggest Treatment For Severe Vomiting

Hi my daughter is 17 and she has been vomiting on and off for four months. All her lab work has come back unremarkable. Two days ago she was admitted into the hospital and they can t get her to stop vomiting and all they have done for her is give her phenagrin and a saline drip. They want to send her home today. I can t believe they are doing what s best for her. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

On and off vomiting over couple of months has different etiologies, most commonly related to gastric issue. Haven't they performed any diagnostic tests like endoscopy or USG abdomen? I suggest you seek advice from a gastroenterologist on this. The doctor will analyze the condition with all appropriate measures as well as medical history. Follow his advise on further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
