Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A few hours ago I was at work doing an intake on a patient when I began getting very sharp pains in my chest. This lasted for a couple of minutes and then my left arm went completely numb. I had my mother in law pick me up and I did not go to the ER. I still have this numbness in my arm and it feels almost like dead weight when I move it. I still have some chest pain on and off but not as bad as earlier. I feel extremely tired and have had some bad digestion problems for about a week and a half. I do have anxiety and panic disorder but this felt very different. I can tell when my anxiety is bothering me or if I am having a sudden panic attack. I ve had them for years and do take medication for it. I am 36 and female. I have been very stressed out...working massive overtime, my mother is not doing well at all and may not make it to the end of the year, I lost my father two years ago, and I am the only one working at my home. Could this just be stress related and anxiety acting up or possibly a heart attack? I am worried about going to the ER as I have no insurance....
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having cardio neurosis as you are having depression as well. But as you are of 36 years of age and typical chest pain, any cardiac ailments to be ruled out. Go to ER and get EKG done. Ok and take care.
