I ve been having a sharp pain in the left areola, it s always been inverted since I can remember. I m 30 years. I have not noticed any lumps. My periods have been late, some are light. I was diagnosed with an overian cyst but nothing to worry about. My harmonal test came back normal. I m just concerned do this new pain that I m feeling.
Pain in the region of the areola or nipple region can occur due to hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle, and this is usually nothing to worry about. Rule pregnancy out if at all there is a chance, and then go ahead with a mammogram to rule out any other abnormality, and once it is then you have nothing to worry about.
Best wishes.
