Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In Lower Left Abdominal Area

Today around noon, I developed a sharp pain in my lower left abdominal area. It has been pretty constant and hurts worse when I bend, squat, or move around. At first I thought it was gas, but it does not seem to be going away. I tried to use the restroom and pushed to see if I needed to have a bowel movement, but that is pretty painful. Is it common for built up gas to cause so much pain for an extended time? Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
Sharp pain could be because of many reasons like urinary tract infection, renal or uretric calculi, pancreatitis or simply nonspecific colitis, gastritis. I advise you to take proton pump inhibitors and antispasmodics. If the symptoms doesn't subside with these tablets then get one ultrasound and urine microscopy done to rule out the cause of pain.

Thank you
