Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I keep getting a burning shooting pain in my toe on my left foot. It is the toe next to the baby toe. It goes from a shooting burning pain that last about 1 minute and other times it feels like someone if trying to pull the toenail off. It isn t constant, but when it comes it takes my breath away. Shoes doesn t affect it as there are times I get it when I am barefoot, and also there are times it wakes me up through the night.
Possible causes like gout or other forms of arthritis must be ruled out. Consult a rheumatologist and get evaluated. A serum uric acid should be checked.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
