Suggest Treatment For Short And Sharp Headaches

I ve been getting short painful headaches that only lasts about 5 seconds. It happens about 20 times a day. I went to the emergency yesterday but they downplayed what was happening. Despite being prescribed an anti-inflammatory medicine, i ve been feeling this sharp heart-beat like headache all day today. What should be my next step? I have never had this sort of headache before.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* There can be various reasons for chronic headache, but that lasting for 5 seconds and repeated over the day is some sort of odd presentation out of Migarine, cluster, tension headache characteristics.

However, after thorough clinical examination, in my clinic I do recommend a need of an MRI of the brain for further guidelines of management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
