Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A couple of weeks ago I was at my sons house and got ready to leave. I reached down to get my purse and I picked it up. However, when I picked it up I asked my daughter-in-law if it was her purse because I couldn t remember that it was mine. I have carried the same purse for over a year. They were all horrified because I didn t remember it was mine. I was embarrassed and laughed it off. I am retired and 63. Is this normal? I try to play games to keep my mind active.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved two types of medications — cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine to treat the cognitive symptoms (like memory loss, confusion, and problems with thinking and reasoning)and Alzheimer's disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH
