Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath After Treated Pneumonia
my father (+90 years) earlier had pneuomonia after that it was curedabout seven years back. He doesnot smoke but cannot breadth properly. He has become very lazy and has stopped walking for the last two years. He like to lie down on the bed. He never listens to us. How to get the treatment. Will I have to go to Lung specialist or Chest specialist ?
I am sorry to hear about your father and his recent pneumonia. Despite the best treatment there will be damage to the lungs following pneumonia. This is irreversible but you are right in that he needs to stay active to increase his lung capacity and improve his overall health. From your description he may also have heart problems that could be affecting his ability to walk. Instead of just seeing a specialist I would recommend he see a family practice doctor who can better review his overall health and suggest therapy for his problems.
The biggest challenge you will have is to get him to agree to see a physician. I wish you luck
