Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath And Chest Pain

Hi three months ago I woke up during the middle of the night with squeezing pain in my left chest lasted a few seconds. a month later i happened again on my left and slightly on my right, just a few seconds again with the right going away first. I m a massage therapist so my work is very physical and I was thinking it could be tightness in my intercostal muscles. Although, at different occasions my heart accelerates (with a slight shortness of breath) sometimes I think it may be because of a dream other times I think it is random (again all during the night) and it takes a good few minutes for it to settle down - can this be anxiety?

Hi,

This pain may be related to anxiety, however, it's very important to rule out any cardiac cause in such cases. Pain that is squeezing, and is on the left side need serious consideration. Especially if there is shortness of breath and heart racing. I Don't say it's a cardiac pain very necessarily, but it must not be ignored. You should have a chek up with your cardiologist.
