Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having shoulder and upper arm pain since July 21st, when I tripped and tried to catch myself by grabbing the edge of a refrigerator. I apparently jammed or somehow injure my shoulder. It hurts worse in the afternoon and evening, but can be ok in the morning. I cannot lie on my shoulder at all. Cold air/fans are particularly painful. Pain is particularly intense in the back of my upper arm, where it is a tingling type of pain. The shoulder itself is an ache. Ice and ibuprofen help, but I m wondering if it s long enough that I should see someone?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely strain of muscles. Ice pack application and NSAID like ibuprofen is helpful for this. You can also apply Gels containing NSAID like diclofenac , capsaicin and methylsalicylate. Taking vitamin B12 supplements will be helpful also. Give rest for your shoulder from violent physical activities also. If there is no improvement then consult an orthopedician. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
