Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. My mother picked up my grand daughter approx. 3 months ago a felt a pop on her shoulder area. She has been to Dr and now therapy and every now then her shoulder still hurts. Today I noticed she had a spider like web bruise on the right side by rib cage. She didn t know there was a bruise there. Can you tell me is it possible to bruise months later or what the cause may be?
As what I understand by history is that, your mother may have a rotator cuff injury and due to which these symptoms have arises.
Have you taken an MRI? if not please do take one. as most times with rotator cuff injury, there might be used to the accessory muscles for doing shoulder movements and also to make it stabilize.
You need to get the MRI and contact an orthopedist of full clinical examination so the medication for pain will be prescribed.
Also, physical therapy should focus on improving the ROM of the shoulder and also regain strength in the shoulder girdle muscles.
In my clinical practice of 12 years, it is always understood that a good physical examination can help plan the best outcome score.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
