Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain When Diagnosed With Lung Cancer
My boyfriend has lung cancer and his left shoulder has been aching. He found a pea sized bump on his upper arm under the skin belw his shoulser and side of his bicept.what could it be? He also haa severe pain at night near the right side of his neck near his spins and shoulder, what could that be?
The likely cause of shoulder pain and the bump is likely to be due to Polymyositis; it is inflammation of muscle or tissue associated with muscle. The condition is not uncommon in patients with lung cancer. To confirm the diagnosis the patient must be examined, and diagnostic test for muscle enzymes like CPK is required. I would recommend the patient to visit a general physician to get examined and undergo required investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
